Uncaged Self Defense provides self defense classes for women, LGBTQ+ persons, and all who feel threatened in everyday life simply due to their identity, situation, or as a result of anxiety or trauma. Owner Kailee Barnes’ central aim is to create a compassionate, safe place for people to build confidence and connect with a supportive community. Offering various class sizes and approaches tailored to individual needs, Uncaged meets attendees where they are, sharing resources and skills to make the world a safer place.
Cinder Wines
A Garden City winery named with a nod to the volcanic cinder underlying many of the Snake River Valley AVA supplying its grapes, Cinder Wines consciously pours its heart into the local story. Winemaker Melanie Krause began the Cinder adventure in 2006, moving home to Boise to chart her own path after years of study throughout the Northwest and the world. Renting a special little warehouse, shared for years with cooperative wineries who have since outgrown the space, Cinder developed their facility and tasting room into a local treasure. They now own the space and have reached further into the community with a wine club membership and a commitment to quality wines.
